The Civic Fund is an American not-for-profit organization that advocates for transparency, effectiveness, and openness in local government. It was founded by policy-makers, journalists, and educators to discuss the sustainability of American cities, social and cultural standards. The Fund promotes participatory governance, a balance of public interest with economic development, and the adoption of new technologies and practices best suited to perpetuate public health, public education and government accountability.

The Fund sponsors studies, trainings and innovative solutions to current and long-standing challenges faced by municipalities, natural resources and global systems. We strive to identify urban centers` unique design, character and atmosphere, and support means of their preservation.
